I think pixel-perfect is when a piece of digital art relating to graphic design or UI/UX takes advantage of the visibility of pixels and makes sure the pixels are aligned, colored, and displayed so as to give a crisp, clean feel and appearance to the end user.

Haha thanks !
The same goes with yours, I really like what you've done with it sincerely. I've thought many times about something for Alpha Pixel and what you've done is just perfect.

I can't believe pixel density is so pathetic on modern displays. This term "pixel perfect" shouldn't even exist! We don't see pixels, we see images. It's time for retina class desktop monitors!

I agree too, I thought it would evolved few years ago but we still don't see it on regular desktop, even Apple don't launch the craziness about it so who will ?
It's been 2 years since I'm looking at new screens, waiting for the new great one, but it's always the same sh** TN panel with bad colors, bad angle view, etc... The good screens are 600€ or more and 2-3 years old...
I thought people liked to watch television, so liked to spend hours in front of a screen, but apparently they don't share to same love for pixels ^^

I remember nearly 10 years ago looking at plasma screen and imagining future screens where pictures would be almost made directly of gaz, something you can control on a molecule level.
Now we're talking about using only 2-3 atoms to stock an octet of data, so why wouldn't it be the same for screens ? :D

I think the reason for this lack of progress is that most people just don't care. Pixels? What are those?

There was a time when people had screens with limited colors, and they thought that in the future everyone will have screens that can display almost all viewable color tones - they were right. There is no limit to progress, the only limiting factor is the unwillingness or the lack of need to do it.

I hope Apple might be the one who can push this sort of technology into our market. While super high density screens are not a new thing (there were plenty of prototypes before Retina Display, as well as larger 10"+ screens) Apple technology seems to be the "standard" of high end stuff. Let's see what iPad 3 can show us, I think it won't be long when all Tablet manufacturers will strive for a similar standard, and later - notebooks, and who knows, maybe desktop displays will be next? But the processing power needed to accomplish all this - that's another story.

I'd have to agree with this. Full HD on a 21.5" is the most dense I've seen for the average consumer.

Well there are a lot of high end ultra mobile notebooks with higher density. A 12" full HD isn't unheard of I believe.

But can it compete with this? [link]

A 4" display with 2560x1600. Me gusta.

That looks awesome! Companies should really start pushing this type of stuff soon, more specifically to desktop/notebook screens, I'm becoming annoyed of these mediocre displays.
