Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr
Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:
I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3
So, about the theme of the contest. Well whenever I've felt down and blue because I've been slapped upside the head with an art block, I like to wallow in self pity and blast my favourite tunes XD (LOL) It's extremely therapeutic :P and it really does help to inspire me with new ideas :D.
A perfect example would be my OC's Medi-kate & Black Nova, both created from inspiration from music.

A bit of news :)

Hi everyone,

Yes I'm sending a bit of news for once ^^ Also to wish everyone a happy new year !

Concerning what could interest you. I have no plan yet about releasing anything on dA. It's both because I don't find enough time but also because I don't have any good idea of something to make about customization...

I'm now fully using Windows 8, with Glow by =Seahorsepip as theme and I've got almost nothing to complain with it so this doesn't makes me want to do something on my own, that's actually the kind of thing I was looking for.

So no I totally don't plan to work on Windows 7 anymore, and I'm afraid my Lumi theme will never be released, it's something of the past now.

I could add that I've updated my karé icons for myself but only a few are made, so again, no plan on any release sorry...

I still got a question for you, what do you think is missing, or that you would like to see under Windows 8, could it be a theme, icons, a skin for a particular software.
That's the kind of thing that could get me to do something :)

And by the way, I wish to say a really special thanks to =Seahorsepip for the pac-man cake he send on my birthday (I know it's very late...) I was really happy about it and I truly appreciate it :)

I've always been a pretty big fan of the designs you do, been using Soft 7 since as long as I can remember, but why must you be such a (excuse my choice of words) douche, when it comes to sharing/releasing your work?

"Hey guys just going to let you all know, I made some new karé icons but you can't have them" - the karé icons are another personal favorite of mine, but the lack of updates on it is such a bummer, and for that I can't blame you, you have a life/you aren't here to just fulfill every request, but previously you spoke of releasing a psd so that others could make some, that or you wouldn't release it and you'd make more, which you never have.

People appreciate your work, me especially, but you keep such a tight lock on your work that we all suffer, it's a shame really.

A happy new year to you too ! I'm sorry to hear about your Lumi theme, hopefully there'll still be elements you can bring over to a new theme if you make one. It's not specifically windows 8 but have you tried playing around with icons for semi web applications like skype and dropbox ?
