Hehe, I'm searching for other monitors to do, and well, honestly it's a good one, so I add it to my list.
But know that I've spend 7 hours to do this one, and for now I should focused on other things before going back to this project, so it won't be done very soon...

Yes, I'm not very used to this kind of detailed works. The screen itself wasn't hard but the foot requires much more times, because of the perspective and it's shape, and it contains MANY effects, even linked layers, to have something good looking. I've spend 6 hours on the 1024px version and 1 hour to convert it into 512px and maintain everything pixelly accurate.
Next time I'll go faster, especially with a different foot ^^

Thanks, that would be an honor !

But I think I should incite on the fact that the Samsung logo, as well as the button and the gray part can be hidden with the psd. I understand many would be discouraged to use a screen with all that details and especially the logo.

And I'll do more, next time I'll head for a 16/9 screen and I'm searching for one simpler, a more recent also

Yes, i do agree. Would be nice to remove the Samsung logo. I use Samsung myself, but this looks like an advertisement. Never could understand why people like to use monitors with Apple logo as well. Wallpapers are not made for any particular monitor. :)

Haha, no ! :) It's just that I was a bit tired of seeing the same screen again and again, and especially for Windows screenshot. But I've seen that there were not many choice on dA, the only good looking psd were the iMac and the Cinema Display, so it was not surprising to see only it after all.
Now, I truly understand that the iMac and especially the Cinema Display remains the best looking, cleaner and more simple screen there is, but at least I hope to give some more choice.

I'll try to do other screens as well, I've begin with the screen I have because it's the best reference I could have, but the all point is to have more choice :)

:) Merci !

Yes, that's exactly why I did it :)
I was always complaining about the fact that every previews were made with Mac screens, but after more searches I haven't been able to found a good looking psd of a different screen. So I thought I should begin to do something about it first before criticize more :)

But still, I really understand that the Cinema Display remains a better screen for wallpaper previews, it's more simple, and well, better designed on every level :)

I've begin with this one as it's the one I have but I'll do more when I'll find the time. It could be my next big project :) And it's also excellent to work my Photoshop skills ! ^^

If you've got any idea how to improve it, fill free to say whatever comes to your mind :)

I agree with you, another preview psd is needed, appart from the iMac screen, wich is really elegant, personally, I like most of the designs of the iMac interface (except the new iPod nano hehe) even how the entire OS looks, however, I think that windows is more manageable OS and more customizable.

well, about your cinema display, I will add a example layer on the psd with "insert screenshot/wallpaper here" some photoshop newies maybe don´d know how to do that mask layer to put the wallpaper just in the screen :)

Also, I don´t understand too much what is supposed to be the "hite part", could you give me a example picture of the ral monitor? also, put the light on the top of the screen to, not only on the borders, maybe make it be a little lighter on the screen. about the rest.... loks how it is suposed to be :) I really enjoyed the support of the monitor, looks awesome.

Also, agree with the commento you drop on customizers about another resource different from the iMac, few days ago one monitor resource was suggested, and I told them that maybe it doesn´t have too much quality, but it would be good to have somehting different from the imac... however the no won =D

That´s all that I could say about your design, hope it could helps.

btw, next week I will be out and I will be online, would you like to make the features of the week for me? just choose a few deviations and change the cathegories if it´s needed and paste the thumbs :) it should be easy for you hehe thanks in advance :)

Hehe, that's mine too :) Yes it's really great. But now, after time, I found the colors not perfect, I've spent hours in calibration and I have to use a customize color calibration find on the web (made with a colorimeter) especially made for this screen in order to have something near good colors. But it's still a TN panel so color will never be perfect. Also the homogeneity begins to get me, the top of the screen is always darker than the bottom and it's truly a problem when you work with pictures...

Anyway, thanks a lot ! :)

i never find the time to calibrate it, but now I wont after your effort :) I used to it as it is, and if you consider that I buy it really cheap as it was used, I am quite happy with it...

The choice of a screen always depends on what you do with it. This screen with a TN Panel is very good for games and movies, because it's fast and it didn't have the noise that other panels have. It's also the less expensive, so if you don't really care about colors or anything it's the best choice.

But after some research I think the best panels when you work on pictures (photographer or graphic designer), is more PVA or IPS. IPS is the panel used on the iMac, it's only default is its high price, but it's slower than a TN Panel, so it's not the best for games. That's about the same for PVA Panel, except the contrast is better.

I'll keep making more searches before changing my screen but for now I think I'll head for PVA, not the most expensive but it's still a lot better with colors and it also have a more open vision angle so the colors are the same from top to bottom, and I'd really like that ! :)
